MONTREAL, Oct. 13, 2026 /CNW/ -- As part of its commitment to offering healthier and more responsible food for all and its ambition to fight for better snacking, Group Bel Canada, owners and producers of the Babybel®, The Laughing Cow®, Boursin® and GoGo squeeZ® brands, today announced the launch of The Gobbler, an educational children's book designed to make healthy nutrition awareness more accessible, fun and engaging.

Created by Quebec author Frédérick Wolfe and illustrated by artist Pishier, The Gobbler invites young readers to discover healthy eating through a colourful, creative world tailored to their everyday lives.
With an entirely educational focus, the book was developed in collaboration with Bel Group's nutritionists and is based on Canada's Food Guide. It helps children learn about healthy eating habits in a simple, positive and entertaining way.
Nutrition education plays an important role in helping all children develop healthy eating habits, regardless of their circumstances or socioeconomic background. To make this education accessible to as many children as possible, Group Bel Canada chose to build on its nearly five-year partnership with Food Banks Canada to bring The Gobbler to children and families. With the organization's support, more than 30,000 copies of the book were distributed across the country through 17 participating food banks.
Food Banks Canada plays a supporting role in distributing this book as an extension of Bel's sponsorship of Food Banks Canada's youth-focused program, After the Bell. The program provides nutritious, child-friendly food packs throughout the summer when school-centred supports are not available. This collaboration helps bring Bel's message of healthy eating to communities from coast to coast. Group Bel Canada has also partnered with the organization for close to five years, supporting its mission annually through product donations, financial contributions and employee volunteer initiatives.

Quotes
"With The Gobbler, we wanted to create an educational tool that helps children develop a positive relationship with food while supporting communities across the country. This project reflects our mission, our commitment to healthier snacking and our determination to work alongside trusted partners to help build healthier and more sustainable eating habits from an early age."
– Cristine Laforest, President and CEO, Group Bel Canada
"Food Banks Canada is proud to partner with Bel Canada through the After the Bell program. Bel is an important sponsor of the program, helping make it possible through donations of kid-friendly snacks, including GoGo squeeZ and Laughing Cow Cheese Dippers. The need for programs like After the Bell is greater than ever. With 1 in 3 visits to food banks made by children across the country, many families face even greater challenges during the summer months, when school-based meal and nutrition programs are unavailable. Through After the Bell, Food Banks Canada helps ensure children have access to nutritious food during this critical gap. Distributing Bel's books through select food banks was a fun way to extend our partnership, supporting Bel's commitment to healthy eating while helping us engage children and families in a positive and accessible way."
– Kristin Beardsley, Chief Executive Officer, Food Banks Canada
"We wanted to create a story that speaks to children with simplicity, humour and imagination. Every illustration was designed to spark curiosity, capture children's attention and encourage them to explore the world of The Gobbler. If this book inspires conversations at home and encourages children to discover new foods, then we've accomplished what we set out to do."
– Pishier, Illustrator, and Frédérick Wolfe, Author of The Gobbler
